A slightly complicated start to the day today. The first challenge was managing to get our party of nine marshalls in place on time for the 10km run between Warwick and Kenilworth Castles - the "Two Castles Run". Seven of us had stayed in our house overnight and left only 10 minutes later than the planned departure time of 7.30am. After dropping of the first four around Leek Wootton, we popped over to Warwick University to collect the last two. It was then back to Kenilworth to drop off four marshalls at three different point before checking in with the other Courtesy Car drivers to work out the best point along Rouncil Lane to position ourselves.

Having a walkie-talkie with the three of us was quite useful as it gave us a better idea of what was going on, especially at the beginning of the race. In just 19 minutes, we saw the first few runners. The steady trickle then became a surge for a while as the 3000 runners worked their way past us.

The weather was certainly better than the last couple of years, although it was a little hotter than many of the runners would have preferred. The person running dressed as a knight, complete with full helmet, must certainly have found it a little too warm!

The event was as well organised as before and it seems that one 76 year old lady who had run 27 marathons across 6 continents had commented that it was the best organised event she had taken part in.... a good endorsement indeed.

Our marshalling team of Sumie, Eri, Ami, Iku, Shoko, Yuta, Hikaru and Clement did very well and enjoyed being able to help run such an amazing event, so very well done to all those who took part either running, organising or supporting.
