It was great to see so many Rotarians from across the District at the charter celebration of the Alcester Alauna Club and for me it was good to take our German student along (he could taste the wines on my behalf and help me choose a few bottles to buy). It was different to previous charter events but had a great relaxed atmosphere to it. Those who wanted to taste the wines had plenty of choice (13, including a port) and walking around the warehouse there was plenty more to choose from if you wanted to buy any (including one from Lebanon). Well over 100 people were there and the weather brightened up which allowed people to relax outside as well.
DG David made a short speech and then presented the charter to Graham, the founder President of the club who also gave a short speech. People then mingled and enjoyed relaxed conversations with friends old and new. A lovely enjoyable evening.
