Stratford High School was the venue for the RIBI Youth Speaks Final. Seven teams from around the country took part in the Intermediate and eight in the Senior competitions. Our Rotarians did a good job at hosting the event and ensured that everyone was well catered for. A wonderful spread of food was laid out for everyone in the sports hall - there was a huge amount.

A lovely day meant a pretty and lovely drive to Chipping Campden for the Regional Youth Speaks Final in which our District had a team in both the intermediate and senior competitions. Admittedly, it took a little time to find the Baptist Church (we ended up cutting through the Manse garden to get to it) but it was certainly worth getting there.

Some events give you great enjoyment and hope and the Youth Speaks event tonight is one of those. It was great to see so many teams participating in the competition (a reflection of the hard work of clubs around District to get schools involved) and many Rotarians alongside teachers and parents there to encourage the teams.

Well this was the event that wasn't really. I left the office with all good intentions of getting to Bablake School in time for the senior youth speaks competition only to get to my car to find it had a flat tyre! I had to wait in the car park on my own for over an hour for the AA man who had to hammer the wheel off in the end (at least it meant I didn't feel the pathetic woman for too long). Because my car has an emergency wheel I then could only drive at 50 miles an hour which...
