Over 60 people came together to hear Paul Anderson, a journalist, talk about his experience of Afghanistan. Warwick Avon had changed its day and time of meeting to allow Paul to come and talk to us. It was a good meal and it was great to see nine other clubs represented there.

Warwick Avon linked with the Warwick School to put on a fantastic jazz concert. Different groups from within the school performed at the Bridge Theatre playing a variety of types of jazz. The standard was amazing and it was a real treat to be so beautifully entertained.

It was nice to meet up with the members of Warwick Avon Club again after years of association. Both Phil Head (my chauffeur for the evening) and myself were made very welcome. It was also nice to be given a choice from 4 puddings(!)
We had a long discussion re membership after my speech which it was good to hold and have people participate in. It was good to be having the conversation with a club that has got several new members recently but is not complacent and is looking for new ways...
