An early morning was needed to ensure we got across to Arley, near Bewdley, for the Stourbridge on Severn walk along the Severn Way. The Club has worked hard on getting people walking parts of the Severn Way so that the whole length will be covered. It gave people the chance to raise money for their own charities by doing a sponsored walk. One guy is walking the full length of 225 miles! Made my 15 miles seem very pathetic.

After leaving work later than I wanted but with David Rees good directions around the road closures in Stourport I did manage to get to the club just in time. It was nice to see a full room of friendly faces. I spoke whilst people were still eating their puddings as the meal took longer to serve than expected but at least it helped to keep the weight off as I obviously didn't have one.
Here the raffle prize is always some eggs from Syd's farm which is always a popular choice. Although...

A really great way to spend my birthday. We first travelled through the M6 traffic (or is that sat in it!) and the rain to go and collect Sasha (Ambassadorial Scholar) to drive to Worcester to catch the river cruise boat with Stourport on Severn Rotarians and children and their families from Birmingham Children's Hospital Burns' Unit. The coach eventualy arrived and as it did the rain stopped. In fact the whole boat trip went without rain. Drinks and hot dogs were available on board for...
