A short drive in the sunshine bought me to Southam College where I met Jim Sleight and Dave Roberts to attend the Interact Club meeting. This club is sponsored by the 2 Southam Rotary clubs. What was really great to see was the number of members there and to hear of their ideas for fundraising and getting more involved with the community. We were able to share with them what Rotary is doing and what other opportunities are available to them e.g. Youth competitions, camps etc..

The Sailing Club at Draycote Water was a lovely venue for the Burns Night. Nearly 100 people were there to enjoy a traditional meal and of course the whisky (others of us were there to drive those enjoying the whisky home). I was well catered for with a vegetarian haggis which was lovely. The traditional elements were there with the haggis being piped in and the Address to the Haggis.
Peter Rollason gave us a tour of Scotland via the distilleries. He has been at Southam 2000's Burns' Night...

A nice journey out into the countryside to the Fox and Hen at Bascote Heath for the Southam 2000 meeting driven by Bill. A very enjoyable meeting with quite a bit of laughter at tables and across the room. A very relaxed atmosphere in the meeting made the nerves a little less before speaking.
I just hope I didn't put the prospective member off. It was nice to be amongst Rotarians I have known for several years and to have positive discussions about publicity and the polio campaign.
