I managed to get back from the RIBI Young Chef final in time to get to Nuneaton Golf Club for the Ladies' Night of the Rotary Club. I have never been to this golf club which was a pleasant surprise and a good number were there for the event including the Presidents of Bedworth and Arbury as well as Paul Jaspal, Assistant Governor. We had a lovely meal and Colin, Club President made a speech responded to by the Inner Wheel President.
After the meal we were entertained by a fantastic...

It was great to attend an event that was just five minutes drive from home. It is the first time I have been to the Bedworth Civic Centre (it won't be the last I am sure). Had a great evening at Nuneaton's Foundation Evening in memory of Gerry Dison. A good number of people attended including our 2 ambassadorial scholars. It was very rare that someone wasn't there to have their pressure taken, even the Mayor and Mayoress came and had theirs taken - it was great to see them supporting the Rotary Club's efforts.
The majority of peple's...

A real show of chivalry - President Colin drove over from Nuneaton to collect me for the club meeting and then brought me back home afterwards although he had to go back to where we had just been.
It was lovely to have several people coming up and talking to me prior to the meeting and it was good to have conversations with friends I hadn't seen for a while.
Having not spoken at a club for over a week it was strange to get back into the speech mode so I felt a little rusty but...
