Had a lovely evening at Arbury Inner Wheel giving my talk on my tandem dive of last year. I had given a talk to Arbury Rotary Club a few months ago and word had got to the Inner Wheel Club - they must have been desperate. On our return from Scotland we invited Chrissy and Eric Dance over for dinner so that they could meet the two Youth Exchange and RYLA lads in our home. We have all got on well right from preparing for our respective years as District Governor and Inner Wheel Chairman and have great fun whenever we get together - this evening was no different.

Chrissy and Eric invited the Inner Wheel Executive and partners over for lunch at their house. The weather was lovely so we were able to congregate in their garden and talk over drinks. It was lovely to see people I have got to know quite well over the last year there. Chrissy and Eric provided a lovely 2 course lunch for us which was great. Thanks must go to their son Neil who worked tirelessly in the kitchen to keep us well fed and watered and to save us from the washing up.

As my work commitments took me longer than I had hoped I ended up walking into Drayton Manor Park jut as the afternoon was about to start. I was there to bring the greetings of the Rotary District and inform the Inner Wheelers of what our Rotary Clubs are doing internationally. The Association's International Chairman was also there and she was lovely. There were also speakers from 2 international charities which certainly got people talking and thinking.

Dreadful rain meant many of us were a little damp as we entered the West Midlands Golf Club for the meeting. It was good to see so many people there. Having just had our Rotary Council Meeting the night before it was interesting to see the differences.
I thought having a meal at the meeting gave it a nice relaxed atmosphere and allowed people to catch up with the members of their club (remember Inner Wheel clubs only have monthly meetings) and to get to know a few more Inner Wheelers...

Yet again we had a fantastic evening with Chrissy and Eric Dance. It was a real treat to go and have dinner at their house with them. We had such a relaxed evening even when there was Rotary and Inner Wheel business to discuss.
We managed to keep the business to a minimum and just enjoy our shared experiences over a lovely meal. There was a great deal of laughter over the evening and before we knew it it was time to head off home. It is always a sign of a good evening to me if the hours...

I had taken today off as leave and wanted to ensure I used it as such and not another day to work from home so was delighted to hear that the Coventry Phoenix Inner Wheel Club were doing a visit to the Herbert Gallery in Coventry. I have never been to the Gallery and so was very keen to go and take a look.
It was a lovely day weatherwise and the company was great. The displays are very well done in the museum. I was only able to get around one hall of displays as it was so interesting....

After the General Council Meeting I drove over to the Chace Hotel for the Inner Wheel meeting of Coventry Phoenix. It was the first meeting I had managed to make since being made an honorary member. It was a good one to be at as Chrissy Dance, the Inner Wheel Chairman, came to talk with the members. It was nice to receive an impromptu invite to dinner with Chrissy and Eric which we gladly accepted. We had a great evening of lovely food prepared by Chrissy, great conversation provided by all and a good bit of reflection on our year so far.
The hours passed very quickly and soon became a very early morning but none of us minded because we were so relaxed. The great thing about Rotary and Inner Wheel is you make new friends. Chrissy and I did not know each other...

A lovely day was spent at Moxhull Hall Hotel for the Inner Wheel District Rally. Inner Wheel members gathered for refreshments in the hotel and its lovely grounds and had the chance to meet the Association President who has beenvisiting the District for a few days.
