We returned to Aldridge, a place I lived for several years and where I was a Rotaract member, to the Compass Suites for a barn dance to celebrate the end of a successful year for Erdington Rotary Club. The venue was a nice size for a barn dance and Paul and I immediately got onto the dance floor to join the first dance. In fact we participated in every dance for the time we were there. It was great to return to Sutton Park, which I have not been to for years, to join the members of Erdington Rotary Club for their meeting. Sandy Aiken did a superb job of running the evening - addressing the haggis and giving the immortal toast to name a few of his jobs...

A really lovely lunchtime spent with Erdington Club. The whole time was spent in good humour and a lot of laughter and quips were shared across the table. It certainly helped to stop the nerves getting too much before I spoke.
Is the first meeting I've spoken at where someone chose to throw their hot drink over themselves whilst I was speaking (there are easier and less painful ways of getting out of hearing me!).
I really enjoyed my time with the club members and it might have been raining...
