The event I was supposed to be at tonight was cancelled. I could have had a quiet night in but I decided to take up the offer of attending a concert put on by Bewdley Rotary (in conjunction with Wollaton Free Church) for our polio campaign - I am so glad I did. A full church showed how popular a person Chris Brighton was. The snow fortunately had not stopped people coming. A member of Bewdley Rotary Club, JP and family man ensured that the church was pretty full as people came to say their goodbyes. Several tributes were made to Chris from different parts of his life. What came across was his commitment to giving service whether as a magistrate or a Rotarian and his sense of humour.

It was great to go across to Bewdley for their 20th Charter Celebration. It was a lovely evening - very relaxed and well supported with 104 guests. It was good to see other clubs there to support as well.
Speeches were kept short which meant people had the chance to mingle and talk with each other. The Mayor and local MP were guests and praised the Rotary Club for its work. Dave, the Club President, gave a very good speech and reminded the club of some of the work it has done over its...

Chauffeur driven again - this time in a Jag! Arrived early to help with the presentation of certificates to a young lady who won the District intermediate Young Photographer competiiton and got a commended from the national competition. She has done really well and it was nice to see her and her parents made so welcome by everyone and people showing a genuine interest in them.
