Bewdley Thanks for Life Concert

May 7, 2010 7:30 PM
The event I was supposed to be at tonight was cancelled. I could have had a quiet night in but I decided to take up the offer of attending a concert put on by Bewdley Rotary (in conjunction with Wollaton Free Church) for our polio campaign - I am so glad I did. The Mayor and local MP were guests and praised the Rotary Club for its work. Dave, the Club President, gave a very good speech and reminded the club of some of the work it has done over its...

Arrived early to help with the presentation of certificates to a young lady who won the District intermediate Young Photographer competiiton and got a commended from the national competition. She has done really well and it was nice to see her and her parents made so welcome by everyone and people showing a genuine interest in them. Just about survived the waiter trying to throw the soup into my lap rather than into the soup bowl - thank...
